Resin Bound
Resin-bound paving is a mixture of aggregates and resin used for driveways, paths patios etc. Its great for domestic And commercial.
It is a flexible surfacing material, so is resistant to cracking. Resin-bound paving is a fully permeable paving solution which allows water to freely drain through the surface. Resin Bound meets requirements of (SUDS) standards, Sustainable urban drainage system this helps to prevent standing water and largely eliminates puddles.
The system is mixed on site and cold applied, using a high-quality clear resin binder to coat the aggregate particles prior to laying. Unlike resin-bonded surfacing, where a thin layer of resin is applied to the surface and then the aggregate scattered on top (which can then become loose over time and is impermeable), resin and aggregates are thoroughly mixed together prior to laying, ensuring that the aggregate is completely coated and so providing a totally bound surface. As a result, a resin-bound surface is more durable and requires less maintenance but it needs to be swept or power washed at least twice a year, to avoid the buildup of detritus and prevent the growth of moss or algae.
Resin-bound paving is a slip-resistant permeable decorative paving system with a product design life of 25 years, this is compared to traditional gravel drives of 5 years and tarmac drives of 15 years, offering excellent value for money and peace of mind.
PRO- Great surface for drainage
CON- Colour fades after several years

RESIN BOND
Resin Bonded is similar to resin bound and also similar to hot bitumen and gravel. They both have similar elements but different applications.
Resin bond is scattered level gravel on top of a layer of resin. Just like Tar and chip except the resin is poured out of a bucket spread evenly with a rubber rake then we scatter the clippings evenly over the resin. This provides a texture and the appearance of loose gravel but unlike tar and grit the gravel is stuck firmly onto of the resin surface sub coat. ( Hot Tar & Gravel is left with loose gravel on top) . Resin Bonded unlike Resin Bond is a non porous Surface.
A layer of resin is applied to a suitable well prepared surface of i.e Tarmac or Concrete which is then laid to falls and covered with loose aggregate. Once the resin is cured the remaining loose stones are removed. Thickness is governed by the size of the gravel. I.e 1-3mm chippings will have a nominal depth of 4mm.
PRO- Great for grip
CON- Not porous

First we prepare the driveway before we start. Then we spray hot bitumen with a flower like spray tar hose that spreads the tar evenly then an expert will very skilfully throw out the gravel level from a shovel spreading the gravel evenly. The gravel is then rolled and spread over the surface covering any tar that was missed. This is called the 1st coat, we recommend that you have 2 coats of hot bitumen and gravel for your home or project for Durability.
PROS - Affordable - Easy to maintain & repair - Best driveway for security - Quick laying process - Great for private lanes
Con- In Summer Tar can be sticky and gravel needs regular grooming over evenly to maintain the appearance
